Chloe Forfitt
Supportive counselling, whatever you are going through
Parent, teacher, artist and charity manager, I have a busy and interesting life in Glastonbury, Somerset. In moving through various life challenges, I have felt the benefit of a supportive person alongside me on what has been a sometimes rocky journey.
A couple of great therapists have helped me to realise who I am and why. Therapy has also helped me to get out of some sticky situations and to realise why I repeatedly kept creating the same scenarios. With self-awareness I have learnt how to create more beneficial relationships with family, friends and colleagues.
- I believe in the power of good therapy and I am very happy to now be able offer this to others.
Hello, I’m Chloe
Trained as an integrative therapist, I make use of various
types of proven therapeutic techniques to assist clients on
their counselling journey.
We can use art and nature to support the counselling
process if that feels right for you. If you want to come and
just talk for an hour, that can be deeply beneficial in itself. I
have a lot of creative exercises on hand that can be used to
help you get unstuck or to see things in a different way.
Nature can be deeply supportive and I may suggest ways to
connect with the natural world.
The therapy is centred around you, your needs and wishes,
this includes how many sessions you are looking for. Therapy
is an investment in yourself, I am experienced in both long
and short-term work and will be offering Single Session
Therapy from Spring 2025. For as long as you come to
counselling, I am working for you and will follow your lead.
About the therapy
What is trauma informed therapy?
- These are a set of guiding values and practices that recognise the widespread impact of trauma on individuals and communities. With these I aim to create a safe and supportive environment that minimises the potential for re-traumatisation and promotes healing.
The 6 core Trauma
Informed Principles
undepin my work
I recognise that many clients may
have experienced trauma, whether
it's a single event or chronic
adversity, and that this can
significantly impact mental health
and well-being.
Trauma-informed care emphasises
safety, both physical and
psychological.
What does this mean
in practice?
- Trust and transparency are essential and I understand this can take
some time to build. I will maintain your autonomy and choice
throughout our work together. My desire is for you to feel empowered
enough to recognise your strengths and develop coping skills. Cultural
sensitivity and tailoring sessions to individual needs are paramount- for
me this also includes needs related to gender and neurodiversity.
Studies have shown that time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote
to stress: in a 2019 study, psychiatric unit researchers found that being in nature
reduced feelings of isolation, promoted calm, and lifted mood.
In Walk and Talk therapy, we take a walk for the duration of your session, and you
discuss what you want while you’re walking.
Walk and Talk therapy can be helpful, but it’s not right for everyone. If you enjoy
spending time outdoors, it might be a natural fit for you. Walk and Talk can be helpful
for people who have a lot of excess energy during therapy sessions or who don’t feel
comfortable sitting still. I also have routes for Roll and Talk sessions if required
People who prefer to talk while sitting side by side instead of face to face also find
Walk and Talk therapy to be helpful, since we’ll be walking next to each other and won’t
make so much eye contact. These adjustments can make it feel safer for you to open
up and talk about vulnerable topics.
Walk and Talk
Nature Connection, Mindfulness
By focusing on the present moment, it is
possible to learn to detach from anxious
thoughts about the past or future. But they
are not right for everyone and we will always
talk about this first.
- I like to use mindfulness practices, if it
feels safe for you to do so. These can
help you to become more aware of your
thoughts, feelings, and bodily
sensations in the present moment,
without judgment.
- There is just enough space here for several lines of text. Use it well.

- I also find it helpful to not take any of these things too seriously.
Nature has been a very healing and
protective factor for me and I love to
help others to find solace there too.
I have found that engaging with
nature encourages present moment
awareness, which can really help
when you feel overwhelmed.
