I am the mother of a 7-year-old and it has been a privilege to witness her journey in autonomous education.  In my workshops, play and freedom (of movement, learning and expression) are primary.  In a three-hour session, there is a clear rhythm which holds the children.  This involves sitting and sharing in circle, a story which incorporates teaching about nature and introduces the theme of the session, a craft, nature connection games and focussed activity.  Within the structure, they are free to explore and create their own projects.  I will be there to guide and inspire – this is not the chalk and talk model of the classroom, we will spend every session outdoors.  Together we create meaningful projects and memorable shared experiences.
